Doyle, White Lead Wahconah Bowlers to Big Win at Ken's Bowl
PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Alex White and Austin Doyle led the Wahconah Blue bowling team to a big 3-0 win over Taconic on Friday at Ken's Bowl.
White and Doyle rolled the top two games and series among all the boys competing in the weekly competition.
White rolled two games over his season average, notching a 206 and a 238 for a 444 series that was the best among the boys.
Doyle rolled the day's best game for any bowler, a 247, and paired it with a 181 for a 428 series.
Taconic was again led by Mya Duhamel, who rolled a 183 and a 218 for a 401 series.
The Wahconah Blue sweep gave it a 14-4 record on the season that left it in third place. Going into Friday's game, Wahconah Blue was tied in the loss column with Taconic with four points lost apiece.
At the top ofhte league standings, both first-place Drury and second-place Pittsfield cruised to 3-0 wins.
The Blue Devils downed Mount Greylock behind another stellar performance by Justyn Cowell.
Cowell rolled a 203 and a 215 for a 418 series that was third among the boys. He was backed up by Kaitlyn Mongeon (208-180--388), the third best scorer among girls on Friday.
Mount Greylock got a high game of 134 from Antoinette Dykes.
Pittsfield kept pace with Drury by sweepting the Wahconah Grey, 3-0.
Colby Rooney led the Generals with a 205-184--389. Brian Rock had a 392 series for the Wahconah Grey (203-189) that was the fifth best among the boys competing on Friday.
Friday's fourth match saw the high series of the day from McCann Tech's Aleasia Yeaton.
Yeaton rolled a consistent 239-237 for a 476 that led the league. Both her scores were well above her old average of 201.
Jared Blondin turned in a solid 236-144--380 for the Hornets.
Mount Everett was led by Tucker Wilkinson with a 189-172--361.
The league competes twice this week, going north to Greylock Bowl and Golf on Tuesday before going back to Ken's on Friday.
