Wahconah Girls, Boys Sweep New Lebanon
NEW LEBANON, Mass. -- Amelia Bergquist won a pair of events Friday to lead the Wahconah girls swimming team to a 67-25 win over New Lebanon.
Bergquist won the 50-yard freestyle in 29.44 seconds and then took the 100 breaststroke in 1:24.52.
Wahconah also got wins from Kat Wilson in the 200 free (2:43.92), Sabrina Holland in the 200 individual medley (2:50.07), Kelsey Charon in the 100 butterfly (1:29.77) and Emma Doane in the 500 free (7:27.10).
Wahconah’s girls also swept all three relays.
New Lebanon got wins from Alex Sotek in the 100 free (59.72) and Mia Thompson in the 100 back (1:08.66).
Wahconah’s boys won their meet, 50-34, behind double winners Joshua Kunzmann, Jacob Kunzmann, Noah Schweitzer and Fred Sears.
Joshua Kunzmann won the 500 free (6:41.73) and the 100 back (1:18.73). Jacob Kunzmann won the 200 IM (2:23.52) and 100 fly (1:05.38). Schweitzer took the 200 free (2:05.08) and 100 breaststroke (1:16.31). Sears won the 50 free (24.69) and 100 free (54.70).
New Lebanon got a win in the 200 free relay. The quartet of Jeffrey Miller, Brayden McMillan, Winter Exley and Catherine Roden won in 2:00.85.
Wahconah hosts Taconic on Wednesday, when New Lebanon hosts Monument Mountain.
