Wahconah Boys, Girls Sweep Taconic

DALTON, Mass. — Sean Harvey swept the hurdles on Friday to lead the Wahconah boys track and field team to a 96-45 win over Taconic.

 

Harvey won the 110-meter hurdles in 18.1 seconds, ahead of the Taconic tandem of Joshua Coleman and Justin Thompson, who finished in 21.7 and 21.9, respectively.

 

In the 400 hurdles, Harvey edged teammate Quincy Heon by a margin of less than a second. Harvey finished in 67.5; Heon crossed the line in 68.2.

 

Wahconah's boys won all three relay events. Kevin Boino ran a leg on the 4-by-100 relay that finished in 47.3 seconds and won two events on his own — the long jump (19 feet, 4-1/4 inches) and the high jump (5-6).

 

In the girls' dual meet, Gianna Moncecchi was double winner in to lead Wahconah to an 88.5-52.5 win.

 

Moncecchi won the long jump (13-11.5) and the 100 hurdles (17.5) and ran a leg on Wahconah's winning 4-by-400 relay (4:52.8).

 

For Taconic, Hannah Barbarotta won the 400 hurdles (1:19.2) and javelin, with a throw of 97-9 that beat the runner-up by more than 24 feet.

 

Taconic's Courtney Lussier won the 100 meter dash (12.8) and the triple jump (31-1.25) and ran on her team's winning 4-by-100 relay.
