Mount Greylock Boys Earn One-Point Win at Notchview

Shin crossed the finish line in 13 minutes, 45 seconds, six seconds ahead of Wahconah’s Fritz Sanders, who placed second.
The Mounties also got points from Knowl Stroud, Benjamin Mandel and Luke Irwin, who placed 13th, two places ahead of Wahconah’s fourth finisher, to secure the victory.
Lenox’s boys placed fifth in a seven-team boys field behind a 12th-place finish from Jackson Carhart.
Lenox’s girls were the top county team in a five-team field.
The Millionaires placed third behind Amherst, which won in a runaway, and Mohawk Trail.
The Lenox girls were led by Lila Kousch, who finished ninth in a 60-girl field.
The fastest girls on Wednesday were Wahconah’s Vienna Mahar and Mount Greylock’s Lauren Miller, who finished 34 seconds apart.
Miller and the Mounties placed fourth, one point behind Lenox. Wahconah’s girls finished fifth.
Racing on her own, Hoosac Valley’s Kim Mach was 25th with a time of 20:02.
