Hoosac Girls, Wahconah Boys Win Duals
CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Shaleigh Levesque swept the hurdles and won two field events Wednesday to lead the Hoosac Valley girls track and field team to a 76-65 win over Wahconah.
Levesque won the 100-meter hurdles in 18.04 seconds and the 400 in 1:11.01.
In the triple jump pit, she led a 1-2-3 Hoosac sweep with a mark of 30 feet, 6 inches to place ahead of teammates Alyssa Garabedian and Taylor Garabedian.
And in the javelin, Levesque's throw of 90-8 beat the field by nearly 15 feet.
Wahconah's boys won their dual over the Hurricanes, 98-43.
Ian Graham was a triple winner for Wahconah.
He took first in the 100 meters with a time of 11.92 and the 200, crossing the line in 24.94.
Graham also won the javelin with a throw of 123-10 and ran anchor on Wahconah's winning 4-by-100 relay quartet.
Hoosac Valley's boys finished 1-2 in the shot put, with Dom Acquista (41-8.5) and Nolan Roberts and in the discus with Joe Delmolino (129-5) and Jake Mucci.
Other multiple winners in the two-team dual included: Hoosac Valley's Lilly Boudreau, who won the 200 (28.49) and 400 (1:03.09); Wahconah's Ellie Clark, who won the high jump (4-9) and long jump (15-1); and Wahconah's Jack Pudlo, who won the long jump (19-3.5) and triple jump (41-0).
