Knapp Leads Wahconah Boys Lax Past Hoosac
CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Wesley Knapp scored seven goals to lead the Wahconah boys lacrosse team to a 10-5 win over Hoosac Valley on Saturday morning.
Knapp scored the game's first two to help his team take a 3-0 lead into the second quarter. But Hoosac got three goals -- two from Stephin Wallace and one from Brandon Ellsworth -- to knot the game midway through the second.
Knapp scored unassisted, and Mike Wagner scored before half-time to give Wahconah a 5-3 advantage.
It was 8-3, Wahconah, before Josh Dalton and Wallace scored to make it a three-goal game midway through the foruth. But Knapp tacked on two more for good measure down the stretch.
Wachconah's Roger Stedman and Vincent Orlandi combined for nine saves in the win.
Ryan Bartlett stopped 10 shots for Hoosac Valley.
