Kays, Taconic Golfers Edge Wahconah

DALTON, Mass. -- Mike Kays carded a 42 Tuesday to earn medalist honors and lead the Taconic golf team to a 191-192 win over Wahconah at Wahconah Country Club.

 

Conner Champoux finished with a 46, and Brent Arseneau and Derek Wurtenberger carded a 51 and a 52, respectively, to round out the scoring for Taconic.

 

Nate Dos Santos finished at 43 to lead Wahconah (6-6).

 

“A very tough match for our kids,” Wahconah coach Pete Terpak said. “We need one win to make Western Mass, and we came out flat. It was a rough outing for our team, and we have no margin for error moving forward.”

 

Daniel Wilson and Corey Bazonski each finished at 49, and Caden Frazier carded a 51 to round out the scoring for Wahconah, which hosts Mount Greylock on Thursday.

 

Taconic is at Lenox on Thursday.
