Taconic Hockey Tops Woodstock Academy

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Harrison Rapant and Shane Tierney scored early in the third period to break a scoreless tie, and the Taconic hockey team went on to defeat Woodstock Academy, 2-1, on Saturday at the Boys & Girls Club.

 

Rapant's goal was assisted by Connor Conant.

 

Mike Schnopp earned the win in goal for Taconic, which improved to 2-6 this winter.

 

Unlike Wednesday night against Belchertown, when Taconic could not stay out of the penalty box, on Saturday it drew just one penalty, which it killed off in the second period.

 

Woodstock Academy gave up three power-play chances, all in the second, but killed them all.

 

Taconic hosts South Hadley on Wednesday.
