Wahconah Golfers Down Taconic

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Sam McLaughlin recorded three birdies on his way to a 1-over-par 36 to lead the Wahconah golf team to a 156-168 win over Taconic on Wednesday at Berkshire Hills Country Club.

 

McLaughlin started his round with back-to-back birdies on the par-4 first hole and par-5 second, and he birdied the par-5 fourth to move to 3-under for the round before picking up some strokes the rest of the way.

 

His Wahconah teammate Tim Kaley was one stroke off the medalist pace after making a birdie on No. 2 en route to a 37.

 

Taconic was led by Mitch Hall with a 40. Gavin Maffuccio recorded a birdie for the homesteading Thunder, breaking par on the par-4 eighth hole and finishing at 44.

 

Taconic hosts Monument Mountain on Friday.

 

Wahconah (2-0) hosts Lee on Friday.
