Krantz, Taconic Go 2-0 at Home

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Noah Krantz placed ninth in a field of 79 on Wednesday to lead the Taconic boys cross country team to a 27-30 win over Pittsfield at Berkshire Community College.

The Generals had the top finisher in the dual meet against their rivals as Seth Aitken ran a time of 15 minutes, 17.30 seconds, to place fourth in the four-team field.

But Taconic got strong runs from its fifth, sixth and seventh runners, who made the difference in the team win.

Collin North placed 22nd overall and ninth in the head-to-head. Nick Berkely (25th) and Nick Kerwood (26th) placed 10th and 11th in the dual meet to displace Pittsfield’s last scorer down to 12th place.

The PHS-Taconic boys was by far the closest dual meet in the Week 2 event, where Mount Greylock once again dominated the leaderboard with six top-10 finishes, led by Ollie Swabey (14:09.57) in first.

The Mounties boys picked up dual meet wins against Pittsfield and Monument Mountain. Taconic’s boys went 2-0 on the day, earning a win over the Spartans.

Mount Greylock’s girls also were dominant, with sophomore Adriana Carasone (17:37.37) leading seven Mounties in the top 10.

Mount Greylock earned dual meet wins over Pittsfield and Monument Mountain, who each picked up team wins of their own.

The Generals, paced by a second place finish from Yasmine Oubtrou, beat Taconic.

Madeleine Roucheleau-Holmes of Monument Mountain placed fifth in a 70-runner field to lead the Spartans past Taconic.
