Murphy's 38 Leads Taconic Golfers to Win Over Spartans

PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Nate Murphy carded a three-over 38 on Friday to lead the Taconic High School golf team to a 216-230 win over Monument Mountain at Berkshire Hills Country Club.

 

Murphy birdied the 438-yard, par-5 fourth hole on his way to earning medalist honors.

 

Matt Soltile and Cam LaFerriere came in with rounds of 53 and 55, respectively. Taconic also scored a 70 from Mitchell McCann.

 

Gregory Kay led the Spartans with a 50. Monument Mountain also used scores from Paul Naventi (59), Liam Trask (60) and Noah Kisiel (61).

 

Monument Mountain goes to Mount Greylock on Thursday. Taconic hosts Lenox on Friday.
