Duval Saves Lift Mount Everett Icers in Shootout

GREENFIELD, Mass. -- Cole Duval stopped two of the three shots he faced in a shootout Friday night to give the Mount Everett hockey team a victory over Greenfield in the first round of the Greenfield Tournament.
 
The Eagles were tied, 4-4, at the end of regulation after Jake Corcoran and Grayson Duval set up Dylan Boomsma for an equalizing goal in the third period.
 
Corcoran scored twice and set up Mason Lynehan for a goal to give Mount Everett a 3-1 lead after the first period, but Greenfield stormed back with three goals in the second to take a 4-3 lead.
 
Duval stopped 25 shots in regulation for the Eagles.
 
In the shootout, Lynehan and Max Joyner each scored, and Duval made two stops to give the Eagles a 2-1 win.
