Corcoran, Dempsey Lead Mount Everett to Comeback Win
SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Jake Corcoran and Brendan Dempsey scored two goals apiece to lead the Mount Everett hockey team to a 6-3 comeback win over Southeastern (Conn.) on Saturday.
Southeastern jumped out to a 2-0 lead at the first intermission, but Corcoran and Dempsey scored to tie it midway through the second period.
The visitors went back on top, but with 1 minute, 20 seconds left in the second, Corcoran set up Dempsey for the tying goal.
In the third, Corcoran, Carlie Grace and Carly Duval each scored a goal to give Mount Everett the win. For Duval, it was the first high school goal of her career.
Jonah Swotes stopped 35 shots to earn the win.
"It was the most complete game we played all season," Mount Everett coach Aidan Gilligan said. "Even though we trailed by two after the first, the team was confident knowing we had outshot them 13-8."
