WASHINGTON, Conn. — Jake Corcoran scored two goals and assisted on two more to lead the Mount Everett hockey team to a 5-2 win over Shepaug on Monday night.

The Eagles (1-1) went to the second period down, 1-0, before Corcoran set up Justin Makuc for the tying goal. It was Makuc’s first career varsity goal.

Mount Everett scored four straight to open the third period — two by Corcoran and a goal apiece by Max Joyner and Charlie Grace.

“Senior Justin Makuc worked very hard on both ends of the ice all night long and was rewarded for his effort with his first career goal,” Mount Everett coach Aidan Gilligan said. “It was nice to see the team finish the game strong considering it was our third game in four days.”

Jonah Swotes made 27 saves for the Eagles, who travel to play Danbury on Dec. 28.
