GREENFIELD, Mass. -- Matt DiSilva scored early in the third period to give the Mount Everett a 3-3 tie, and the Eagles prevailed over Greenifeld in a shootout on Friday night to advance to the final of the Greenfield Tournament.

Jonah Swotes made a sliding save to stop the first Green Wave try in the shootout, and after a Mount Everett misfire, he made another save to bring Jake Corcoran to center ice.

Corcoran faked out Greenfield keeper Finn O'Connor (24 saves) and finished the opportunity to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead.

Swotes then made a third straight save to clinch the best-of-three shootout.

In regulation, DiSilva scored midway through the first to erase an early 1-0 deficit. But Greenfield scored two in a row to take a 3-1 lead early in the second.

Corcoran scored on an assist from Carly Duval to make it 3-2 going to the second intermission. And Brendan Dempsey set up DiSilva on the tying goal.

Swotes stopped 37 shots in regulation and overtime.

"[Eighth-grader] Grayson Duval did an excellent job of back checking throughout the game and saw a lot of ice time in his first varsity appearance," Mount Everett coach Aidin Gilligan said. "Carly Duval, who is the second of the 8th grade triplets who play for Mount Everett, was solid on the back end all night and showed great patience with the puck in her own zone."

Mount Everett faces Wahconah on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. for the tournament title. Wahconah knocked off Turners Falls on Friday night.
