Carly Duval's Goal Gives Mount Everett Icers Tie with Chicopee
SHEFFIELD, Mass. -- Carly Duval scored with about nine minutes left to go Tuesday to give the Mount Everett hockey team a 5-5 tie against Chicopee.
Duval scored twice for the Eagles, who came back from deficits of 3-1 and 5-3 to earn the point.
Jake Corcoran scored the game’s first goal in the second minute, but the Pacers went ahead 2-1 by the first intermission and went ahead by two goals early in the second.
Duval scored with assists from Grayson Duval and Corcoran, and Dylan Boomsma converted a Grayson Duval assist to tie it, 3-3.
But Chicopee pulled back in front with a goal late in the second and early in the third.
Corcoran and Andrew Conlon set up Brendan Dempsey for a goal to make 5-4 with 11:03 left to play. Two minutes later, Boomsma and Matt Seward set up Carly Duval for the game’s final goal.
Jack Seward-Dailey stopped 47 shots for the Eagles, who were outshot 52-22.
Mount Everett goes to Holyoke to play Chicopee Comp on Saturday.
