McCann Tech Harriers Down Franklin Tech

TURNERS FALLS, Mass. -- Billy Gallipeau finished third overall to lead the McCann Tech cross country team to a 25-30 win over Franklin Tech on Tuesday.

 

The Hornets’ boys and girls team ran together in the season’s first meet, posting one team score.

 

Gallipeau finished in 24 minutes, 51 seconds, behind Franklin Tech’s Sohan Tyler (19:57).

 

Hornets coach Eileen Moynahan said she expects Gallipeau, a senior, to only get stronger this fall.

 

“It’s the first day of school, it’s early in the season, and it was hot on course today,” Moynahan said.

 

McCann Tech freshman Kayla Wilson was the top girl for the Hornets, finishing in 29:58.
