McCann Tech Boys, Girls Sweep Cross Country Meets on Road

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Brandon Miller led from start to finish Friday to lead the McCann Tech boys cross country team to a sweep of a four-team meet at Forest Park.

 

Miller covered the 5-kilometer course in 21 minutes, 13 seconds -- 29 seconds ahead of runner-up Myles Chinappa of Smith Vocational.

 

Jordan Greenbush, Daniel McGrory and Chris Sunn finished fourth through sixth, respectively, and the Hornets edged Smith Voc, 26-29. McCann Tech earned easier wins by scores of 15-50 over St. Mary’s of Westfield and Hampden Charter.

 

The McCann Tech girls dominated their three meets, beating all three opponents by scores of 15-50.

 

Freshman Camryn Moran placed second in the girls race with a time of 24:52.

 

The Hornets’ boys and girls teams are each 7-6 with one meet remaining, Tuesday at home against Pope Francis at the Greylock Glen.
