Westfield Tech Golfers Top McCann Tech

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- McCann Tech senior Owen Vareschi earned a point for the Hornets in a 22.5-1.5 season opening loss to Westfield Tech on Monday.

 

Vareschi started out strong, winning the first three holes, but he fell to Westfield Tech’s Devin Werbiskis, 47-53, to drop his match by a score of 3-1.

 

The match saw the debut of a pair of newcomers for the Hornets, senior Haley Bourdon and freshman Danika Dodge, who each posted strong performances, according to coach Chris Carr. Dodge tied Andrew Reed on the last three holes to take a half point for the team.

 

McCann Tech is back on the road on Tuesday to face Pathfinder.
