Sorrentino Leads Lee Bowlers to Victory
PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- J.T. Sorrentino rolled a 262 on Friday at Ken's Bowl to lead the Lee High Black team to a 27-4 win over Taconic in Berkshire County High School Bowling League action.
Sorrentino's teammate Devyn Olds rolled the week's fourth best series, a 435, to aid the Wildcats' cause.
Lee is in first place in the league standings after two meets, holding a 4.5-point lead over second place McCann, which posted an 18.5-12.5 win over Pittsfield on Friday.
Kalley Vanuni rolled the second-best game (223) and second-best series (349) among the girls competing to lead the Hornets.
The top girls' game and series were turned in by Mount Greylock's Taylor Callahan who rolled a 233 on her way to a 406 series.
The Mounties, seeing their first action of the season, dropped an 18-13 decision to Drury, which was led by Nickolas Johnson, who rolled the best series of the afternoon with a 471 and recorded a 241 game.
Friday's other match saw Monument Mountain beat Mount Everett, 23-8. The Spartans were led by Tom Hankey Jr., who had the day's second-best series (467) and third-best game (243).
Lee's Orange team had a bye on Friday.
The league returns to action on Friday, Dec. 18.
