Taconic Ties Lee in High School Bowling League
GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. – The Taconic bowling team Wednesday earned a 3-0 win at Cove Lanes to move into a tie for first place in the Berkshire County HIgh School Bowling League.
Alyssa Smith rolled a two-game series of 292 for the Thunder, which beat Pittsfield to tie Lee in the league standings. Smith’s 178 game was second in the league among female bowlers on Friday and gave her the fourth-highest single game in the league this winter.
Pittsfield’s Generals had the day’s top individual bowler, Matt Dupuis, who rolled a 248 game and a 460 series that was the best this season in the league.
Lee earned a 2-1 win over Monument Mountain behind Juliana Schuerer, Devyn Fillio and Maddie Kotek.
Schuerer had the day’s best game (196) and series (364). Fillio and Kotek posted two-game series of 334 and 324, respectively.
The Spartans were led by Steve Woodard, who rolled a 234 game and a 457 series that was second in the league on Friday.
The day’s third varsity match saw North County rivals Drury and McCann Tech duke it out in South County.
The Hornets prevailed, 3-0, as Reilly Lefebvre rolled games of 207 and 204. Drury’s Zachary Mongeon rolled games of 245 and 212.
The league rolls its second meet of the week on Friday when it returns to Cove. Lee will face Pittsfield and Taconic will take on McCann Tech.
The league-leading Wildcats and Thunder are scheduled to face one another on Jan. 24 at King Pins in North Adams.
