Lee Bowlers Take Lead in County Standings

PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Emily Holian rolled a 246 game and 446 series Friday to lead the Lee bowling team to a 3-0 win over Taconic as the Wildcats took over first place in the Berkshire County High School Bowling League.
 
Holian and teammate Bella Kotek (246-200–446)  recorded the second- and third-best games and series in the league on Friday.
 
Taconic was led by Mitch McCann with a 295 series.
 
Lee’s win, coupled with Pittsfield’s 3-0 loss to McCann Tech on Friday flipped the top two spots in the league standings with one meet left in the regular season.
 
McCann Tech got a 232 game and 395 series from Michael Oakes, the second best game and series among the boys at K&M Bowling on Friday afternoon.
 
Pittsfield’s Matt Dupuis rolled the best game (234) and best series (433) in the league on Friday.
 
In Friday’s third varsity match, Mount Everett kept itself within striking distance of fourth place with a 3-0 win over Monument Mountain.
 
Finnegan Vion led the Eagles with a 185 game and 313 series. Monument Mountain got a 239 series from Noah Walker.
 
The final match before the county championship is on Friday at Cove Lanes in Great Barrington; it will double as Senior Day in the league.
 
Lee will square off against Pittsfield in a battle for first place. Third-place McCann Tech will take on Mount Everett.
 
Varsity standings: 1. Lee, 23-4; 2. Pittsfield, 22-5; 3. McCann Tech, 19-8; 4. Taconic, 9-18; 5. Mount Everett, 7-20; 6. Monument Mountain, 1-26.
