Shepardson Ties for Third at State Championships

STERLING, Mass. – Lenox’s Max Shepardson Monday tied for third place at the Division 3 State Tournament at Sterling National Country Club.
 
Playing as an individual, Shepardson carded an 8-over-par round of 79, overcoming wet conditions to finish in a two-way tie with Weston’s William Batz.
 
The medalist at the event, Jack Carstensen of St. John Paul II of Hyannis, carded a 3-over 74.
 
Lee’s Joey Abderhalden, who also qualified as an individual from the Western Mass D3 Championships, tied for 21st  place with an 84.
 
Batz’s Weston squad won the team event with a combined 38-over score of 322, finishing one stroke ahead of St. John Paul II.
