Wahconah came out strong in the first set gaining a steady lead. Junior Sara LaFreniere went on a five-point run serving for the hosts, putting them in the lead 9-6. Lee ended up coming back and won the set 25-22.
"In the first set, they had a lot of pressure with their serve, it was deep and they had a lot of floaters," Lee coach John Warner said. "We were struggling with that, but the girls persevered through that first match, and it was a matter of just putting together our offense from there."
Lee ended up putting its offense back together quite well in the second set, running the score up 11-2. A few errors on Lee’s serve earned Wahconah some points, but all and all Lee held it together and took the second set, 25-17.
Wahconah came out strong in the third set looking to come back. It was back and forth in the beginning, but Lee went on a run and took it away 25-16.
Sam Reynolds for Lee had seven kills and five blocks and Shenna Tyler had six kills.
