Lee Bowlers Edge First-Place Taconic

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- Led by Julianna Schuerer and Emily Holian, the Lee bowling team Wednesday took a narrow 2-1 win over Taconic in Berkshire County High School Bowling League action at Cove Lanes.
 
The difference in the match was the first game, where Taconic knocked down more pins (951-867), but three of five Wildcats outscored their Taconic counterparts in the match to make the difference.
 
Lee went on to win the match's third point by taking the best-of-three series of Baker format games.
 
Schuerer posted a 198 to help lead the way; Holian rolled a 346 two-game series, the second best series among girls competing on Wednesday.
 
The top girl on Wednesday was Taconic's Mya Duhamel, who rolled a 224 game and 408 series.
 
Taconic also had the top boys in the league on Wednesday, with Mitch McCann rolling a 235 game and Andrew Robitaille rolling a 439 series.
 
Despite the loss, Taconic stayed in first place in the league standings, just ahead of idle Pittsfield.
 
In Wednesday's other match, Wahconah defeated Mount Everett, 3-0.
 
Cody Doyle led Wahconah with a 220 game and a 391 series.
