PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Miss Hall’s School announces that four of its student athletes have received recognition for their performances during the fall sports season.

Seniors Demi DeRosalia, of Saugerties, N.Y., and Nanya Okeke, of Hillside N.J., were named all-stars for the Western New England Prep School Volleyball Association for the second consecutive season. Sophomore Sally Nason, of Lee, and junior Sarah Willson, of Dalton, were named all-stars for the Western New England Prep School Soccer Association.

Both Demi and Nanya served as captains this year for the MHS varsity volleyball team. Demi, in her fourth year varsity season and second year as captain, was the team’s defensive specialist and led the Hurricanes with 274 serves received and 84 digs. Nanya, a four-year varsity starter, played the middle-hitter’s position, and recorded 77 kills, 43 aces, 42 digs, and 15 blocks.

Sally, a two-year starter on varsity soccer, scored nine goals from the striker’s position this season, helping to pace the Hurricane offense. Sarah, one of the team’s captains, is also a two-year varsity starter and anchored the team’s defense from her center defender’s position. Both Sally and Sarah are three-sport varsity athletes for Miss Hall’s.

Founded in 1898, Miss Hall’s School was one of the first all-girls boarding schools established in New England. Today the school is a nationally recognized, boarding and day independent secondary school that combines an exceptional college-preparatory curriculum with two acclaimed leadership programs, Horizons and the Girls’ Leadership Project. Both programs are central to our belief that, in addition to outstanding academic preparation, girls need additional skills that allow them to step confidently into college and beyond, when they will be expected to communicate effectively and authentically, voice opinions with resolve and respect, and be comfortable having influence, leading change, and contributing boldly and creatively to the common good.

Miss Hall’s School currently enrolls 214 girls, representing 17 states and 28 countries. For more information, call (413) 443-6401 or visit our website at www.misshalls.org.
