PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Jadyn Galliher put down eight kills Monday to lead the Taconic volleyball team to a three-set win over Pittsfield.

Galliher also served four aces and provided two blocks in the 25-20, 25-15, 25-11 win.

Janayah Jones had four of her six kills in the first set, when Taconic survived a comeback effort from the Generals, who fell behind early by seven points but came back to within two.

“The rest of the night went our way for the most part, although we had some trouble dealing with PHS's front line,” Taconic coach Lance Fyfe said. “They play aggressively on the net and get a lot of blocks.”

Ella Stodden had 23 assists to go with a team-high three blocks, eight digs and four aces.

Sophie Aubin had a team-high 10 digs.

The win moved Taconic to 9-4 on the season, one win away from qualifying for the state tournament.

The Thunder hosts Mount Anthony on Tuesday.

Pittsfield (1-12) goes to Wahconah on Wednesday.
