Mount Greylock Wins, Takes Over First Place in League

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Mount Greylock volleyball team Wednesday followed up its second loss of the season by avenging its first loss.
 
Emily Alvarez pulled up 20 digs and served six aces in a three-set win over Ludlow, which snapped the Mounties’ 32-match winning streak back on Sept. 18.
 
Olivia Perez and Annabelle Coody had six kills apiece in Wednesday’s 25-16, 25-14, 25-12 win.
 
Coody also served five aces.
 
Kelsey MacHaffie had three aces to go with four kills and a block, and Kylie Sweren finished with five kills and a pair of aces.
 
Mount Greylock (14-2) went into Wednesday’s game tied with Ludlow with one loss apiece atop the Western Division standings.
 
After Wednesday’s win, the Mounties can clinch an outright league title on Friday when they finish the regular season at league rival Wahconah.
