CHICOPEE, Mass. -- Kiera Kristensen, Jilly DeChaine and Tyanna Lepicier each recorded her first varsity kill on Friday as the Mount Gryelock varsity capped an historic night for the program with a three-set win over Chicopee Comp.

The Mounties downed the Colts by scores of 25-18, 25-13, 25-21, behind an 11-kill performance from Annabelle Coody.

But one of the major storylines was the fact that, for the first time, three Mount Greylock teams took the court in the road trip.

This fall, the Mounties added a freshman team to its varsity and JV units, joining many of the other teams in the Western Division with a second developmental unit.

"The JV and freshman matches were hard fought with long rallies and comebacks for both sides," Mount Greylock coach Greg Geyer said. "Perhaps the loudest moments of the entire night came when both team's varsity players were rooting on their teams.

"Our new players did extremely well night in their first match and I want to thank Chicopee Comp for such a great atmosphere of sportsmanship."

Kylie Sweren had nine kills and six aces in the varsity match. Olivia Perez served seven aces to go with four kills.

Mount Greylock (3-0) hosts Pittsfield on Tuesday.
