Williams, Thunder Stay Perfect on Road
WARE, Mass. – Nevaeh Williams recorded seven kills Thursday as the Taconic volleyball team earned a come-from-behind, four-set win over Ware.
Williams filled the stat sheet with nine assists, 10 digs and three aces as the Thunder earned a 24-26, 25-10, 25-20, 25-18 win.
“Ware took the first set 26-24 which sparked a sense of desperation for Taconic in the second set giving us a 25-10 victory,” Taconic coach Lance Fyfe said. “We struggled with our serving in the first set giving Ware eight free points, which played a huge part in their win.
“Our serving improved as the match went on, and Ella Stodden deserves a big shout out for her powerful and consistent serving which earned her 13 aces on the night.”
Stodden also passed out 10 assists and pulled up nine digs, just missing a triple double. And she was credited with four kills.
Eight different players earned at least one kill in the win.
Jadyn Galliher had six to go along with six aces.
Natalia Dos Santos pulled up a team-high 29 digs and collected four kills and three assists.
Taconic stayed undefeated on the road with the win. The Thunder (4-2) goes to Lenox on Saturday.
