PITTSFIELD, Mass. – April Soasti served a team-high eight aces Monday to lead the Taconic volleyball team to a three-set win over Mount Everett.

Soasti also passed out eight assists and pulled up three digs in the 25-9. 25-13, 25-9 win for the Thunder.

“Tonight's win was an important one as it boosted morale and brought the team closer together,” Taconic coach Lance Fyfe said.” Our serving tonight was key to our success with 10 out of our 13 players getting at least one ace.

“Several of [Soasti’s] assists came off her connection with Fernanda DeSiqueira who put down six kills to go along with her four aces.”

Angelese Ward-Green tied DeSiqueira with a team-high six kills. Ella Stodden led Taconic with 11 assists.

The Thunder (7-3) snapped a two-game skid and will look to keep a new winning streak alive on Wednesday when it visits Holyoke.

Mount Everett (0-9) hosts Mount Anthony on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
