Lee Sweeps State Tournament Opener

LEE, Mass. – Claire Davis served nine aces Friday to lead the Lee volleyball team to a sweep of Pioneer Valley Christian in the first round of the Division 5 State Tournament.

 

Davis also pulled up 14 digs in the 25-20, 25-16, 25-11 win.

 

Karalynn Hopkins had 10 digs to go along with seven kills.

 

Alexis Masten pulled up 11 digs and put down five kills, and Juliana Schuerer finished with 15 assists and eight digs.

 

Tenth-seeded Lee (15-6) is into the Sweet 16 and awaits the winner of Monday’s match between No. 7 Lenox and No. 26 Renaissance.
