Elliot, Gamberoni Score to Lift Lenox Girls at Hoosac Valley

CHESHIRE, Mass. -- Mary Elliot and Nicole Gamberoni Friday scored second-half goals to lift the Lenox girls soccer team to a 2-0 win over Hoosac Valley.

 

"Today we did not play like we know how," Hosoac Valley coach Kathy Budaj said. "We seemed out of sync and were not connecting passes. Give Lenox credit they won the 50/50 balls. We struggled keeping possession and making good choices when we had the ball."

 

Taylor Knight assisted on Elliot's game-winner, and Julie Pehlert set up the insurance goal.

 

Sophie Patella earned the win in goal, making five saves.

 

"Both keepers played great games for sure," Budaj said. "Kelsey [Bulson} came up big for us, and so did Sophie for Lenox."

 

Bulson made nine saves in the loss.

 

Hoosac Valley (1-3) goes to Wahconah on Monday.

 

Lenox (6-0) goes to Lee on Tuesday.
