Lenox's Hall Hits Milestone in Shutout Tying Southwick
SOUTHWICK, Mass. – Ella Hall made four saves – including the 400th of her career – Saturday to backstop the Lenox girls soccer team to a 0-0 stalemate.
It was a season-opener delayed by weather cancellations and one in which the Millionaires had to overcome some unique challenges.
“The Lenox girls, who had traveled out to Southwick the day prior, only to get sent home after waiting on the bus for over an hour due to thunderstorms delay, started the game looking like they've been on a school bus for over 4 hours in a 20-hour time period,” Lenox coach Brian Seminara said.
Lenox’s backfield of Jocelyn Fairfield, Julia Zanin, Sophia Carraro, Libby Ballinger and Chloe Parsenios withstood a strong attack by the Rams early on.
The second half was more back and forth, Seminara said, and the Millionaires started to take control late. But they could not find a way past Southwick keeper Sydney Demyon, who finished with four saves herself.
Lenox (0-1) hosts Monument Mountain on Monday.
