CHICOPEE, Mass. – Kelsey Morrissette scored in the 72nd minute to break a scoreless tie and send the Chicopee Comp girls soccer team to a 1-0 win over Pittsfield on Tuesday.

Harolyn Castillo made 13 saves for the Generals, who put together two solid halves for the first time this season, according to coach Molly West.

“Our combination play and overall ball movement was fantastic,” West said. “We went into the second half with confidence and a push to score and had many chances. The goal came out of a frenzy in front of the net which was devastating given the timing as we worked so hard defensively.

“Harolyn Castillo was, once again, phenomenal in goal.”

Pittsfield (2-11-1) hosts Agawam on Thursday afternoon at Kirvin Park.
