PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Jordyn Balint and Mila Dillard each scored a pair of goals Thursday to lead the Pope Francis girls soccer team to a 6-1 win over Pittsfield at Kirvin Park.

After the Cardinals took a 4-0 lead at half-time, Molly Pope converted a second-half penalty kick for the Generals.

“Pope Francis is a phenomenally skilled team in so many ways and dominated in every aspect,” Pittsfield coach Molly West said. “They also took advantage of outside shots from too much space in the middle. We needed to shift our formation as Kyana Summers was out so that affected our overall approach and our effort in the first half was not where we needed to be, but I am proud of Kara Wong and Brooke Wong for filling in a huge way today.”

Harolyn Castillo made 17 saves in Pittsfield’s goal.

The Generals (1-8-1) hosts Lenox on Saturday morning.
