PITTSFIELD, Mass. – After falling behind by four goals at half-time, the Pittsfield girls soccer team battled back but could not catch Chicopee Comp, which escaped with a 5-3 win at Kirvin Park on Friday.

Kaitlyn Gilhooly and Taryn Carriveau each scored a pair of goals for the Colts.

Caprese Conyers had a second-half hat trick for Pittsfield. Molly Pope assisted on two of her goals, and Madison Stetz had an assist on the other.

“Pope was outstanding in the midfield for us today and our offensive output shifted with her distribution,” Pittsfield coach Molly West said. “Madison Stetz also had a great game. Caprese Conyers, a freshman, is starting to come into her own with her speed and tenacity.”

Harolyn Castillo made 20 saves in Pittsfield’s goal.

The Generals (0-5) are at Agawam on Tuesday.
