PITTSFIELD, Mass. – The Hampshire Regional girls soccer team Monday scored three times in the first half and went on to a 3-2 win over Pittsfield at Kirvin Park.

Molly Pope scored with an assist from Madison Stetz, and Caprese Conyers had an unassisted goal for the Generals.

Pittsfield coach Molly West saw a lot to be encouraged about in Pittsfield’s closest game of the young season.

“We played a good team extremely hard until the end,” West said. “We had many chances in the last 15 minutes and I cannot begin to relay how proud I am of our effort and attitude. We continue to improve every day and recognize areas we can improve on. So much growth since our first game. Kyanna Summers dominated as sweeper today and Harolyn Castillo continues to shine in the goal.”

Castillo made 18 saves for Pittsfield (0-3), which hosts South Hadley on Wednesday.
