LENOX, Mass. -- Molly Flynn scored twice, and the Monument Mountain girls soccer team outscored Lenox, 2-0, in the second half en route to a 5-2 win over the Millionaires on Wednesday night.

The Spartans got the better of a back-and-forth first half thanks to an own goal against the Millionaires in the 36th minute.

Flynn scored the game’s first goal with help from Abbey Kinne 12 minutes into the match.

Lenox answered with a goal by Amy Alderton, assisted by Aliza Munch, six minutes later.

Flynn scored again just one minute later, and late in the half, the own goal gave Monument Mountain a 3-1 edge.

Ari Roberts scored with an assist from Molly Knight with three minutes left in the half to get Lenox back within a goal.

“Considering how poorly our last outing against Monument went just five days ago, it was encouraging to see us show quite a bit of improvement on the field today,” Lenox coach Kyle Zinchuk said. “We played a much more even game in the first half especially, before getting worn down a bit in the second half.”

Sophia Tenuta scored from Fiona Horan early in the second half, and Ava Gamberoni capped the scoring in the 64th minute.

Helen Pajeski made six saves to earn the win in goal for Monument Mountain.

Taylor Knight stopped 17 shots for the Millionaires (6-4), who host Mount Greylock on Friday.

Monument Mountain (6-3) goes to Lee on Thursday.
