DALTON, Mass. — Sophie Leamon scored her second goal of the match with just more than 11 minutes left to give the Mount Greylock Regional High School girls soccer team a 2-1 win over Wahconah on Thursday.

In a game Mount Greylock coach Tom Ostheimer described as "fast and furious," Wahconah's Bethany Houle scored an equalizer with about 15 minutes left.

But Leamon responded moments later with a goal from the top of the 18-yard box to help Mount Greylock improve to 3-1 this fall.

Caroline Flynn had an assist on Lemon's first goal early in the second half, and Charlotte Rand made eight saves.

"The defense frustrated Wahconah all night, and Charlotte Rand made a few good saves in the end to preserve the victory," Ostheimer said.
