McKnight Leads Wahconah Girls in Opener

DALTON, Mass. -- Arden McKnight scored twice, and Katie Dumas had a goal and an assist to lead the Wahconah girls soccer team to a 4-1 win over Amherst on Tuesday night.

 

Dumas set up McKnight for the game's first goal midway through the first half.

 

After Amherst got the equalizer with about five minutes left in the first half, Wahconah (1-0) scored three straight after the break.

 

First, Dumas scored the game-winner in the 54th minute. McKnight and Emi Cote tacked on insurance goals.

 

Jamie Downer stopped 11 shots in the win.

 

Wahconah hosts Ludlow on Friday.
