Agawam Edges Wahconah in Downpour

DALTON , Mass — An aggressive Agawam defense holding Wahconah to only two shots on the goal led the visitors past Wahconah on Saturday.
 
The entire first half of the match was pure Agawam. 
 
Wahconah had no momentum at all, hardly ever having possession of the ball.
 
The game ended in a 1-0 win from Agawam.
 
Makayla Rosario of Agawam scored her team's only goal in the 26th minute.
 
Following the score Agawam had seven shots on goal that were all saved by Wahconahg oalie Edrie Collins.
 
The entirety of the game was marked by torrential downpours.
 
The players were slipping everywhere as well as having a hard time timing their kicks due to the ground's moisture.
 
Collins had a steller game even with the goal allowed. She saved 16 other shots.
 
Agawam and Wahconah will play again this season later, with the season series now being 1-0 in favor of Agawam.
 
Agawam pushes its record to 1-1.
 
Wahconah is 0-2 and looks forward to their game on Monday at home against South Hadley.
