Mahar Edges Hoosac Valley on Late Goal

ORANGE, Mass. -- The Mahar girls soccer team scored with 11 minutes left Tuesday to spoil one of the best efforts of the year for the Hoosac Valley Hurricanes.

 

“Today was a great game for us,” Hoosac Valley coach Kathy Budaj said after the 1-0 loss. “The girls were moving the ball much better and creating opportunities.

 

“Emma Meczywor did a great job in goal, making a fantastic save on a penalty kick.”

 

Meczywor finished with seven saves for Hoosac Valley (0-8), which hosts Wahconah on Thursday.
