Hoosac Valley Advances Past Smith Academy

CHESHIRE, Mass. – Emma Meczywor scored a pair of goals Saturday to lead the Hoosac Valley girls soccer team to a 4-1 win over Smith Academy in the quarter-finals of the Western Massachusetts Class D Tournament.
 
“The Lady canes did a great job communicating and working together,” Hoosac Valley coach Lindsay McGinnis said.
 
Maryn Cappiello had a goal and an assist, and Genevieve Lagess and Ashlyn Lesure each scored a goal in the win.
 
The Hurricanes (5-10-1) travel to play top-seeded Granby in the Western Mass semi-finals on Monday.
