SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Ainsley Krans scored one goal and assisted on another Tuesday to lead the Mount Everett girls soccer team to a 2-0 win over Hoosac Valley.

Krans set up Chevelle Raifstanger for the game-winner in the first half.

In the second half, Krans scored with an assist from Makayla Carpenter on a corner kick.

Carpenter split time with Aliyah Creamer in Mount Everett’s goal, combining for 11 saves.

“Our defense did a really great job today of stepping up and limiting opportunities and our center midfielders have really shown improvement which has helped in key situations,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. “We keep plugging people into new positions and everyone has accepted the team identity these past couple of games and it shows how we are playing as a collective group.”

Emma Meczwor played the first half in goal for the Hurricanes, stopping three shots.

Hoosac Valley (0-7) goes to Taconic on Friday.

Mount Everett (4-4) takes a two-game winning streak into Tuesday’s home game against Smith Academy.
