SHEFFIELD, Mass. – The Springfield International Charter School girls soccer team handed Mount Everett a 3-0 setback on Tuesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs got their offense going with the benefit of an own goal before getting scores from Olivia Dailey and Gabby Taveras.

“Unfortunately, just a couple of bad touches and bounces didn't go our way today and within the first minute we were playing from behind,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. “We did start to build a lot of chances and opportunities, but we were one pass or touch away from converting.”

Makayla Carpenter and Aliyah Creamer split time in the Eagles’ goal, combining for seven saves.

“The younger girls are really stepping into some key positions and playing well which is promising to see,” King said. “We just need the older girls to set more of the tone we are lacking during practices and games.”

Mount Everett (2-4) hosts Taconic on Thursday.
