HATFIELD, Mass. – Caitlin Graves scored seven goals Monday to lead the Smith Academy girls soccer team to an 8-1 win over Mount Everett.

The hosts led, 2-0, at half-time before Graves found the back of the net five times in the last 40 minutes.

“We were just simply outworked and outhustled today by Caitlin Graves,” Mount Everett coach Joshua King said. “She utilized her speed to her advantage and our team could not make the simple adjustments on the field to slow her down. Makayla [Carpenter] did a phenomenal job in net tonight and most of Graves's goals were 1 v 1 which Makayla had no chance. Despite the score though we had a bunch of scoring chances early in the game but could not put ourselves in the right place to convert.”

Carpenter made 13 saves for the Eagles.

Chevelle Raifstanger scored the Mount Everett goal with an assist from Aliyah Creamer.

Mount Everett (1-2) hosts Hopkins Academy on Wednesday.
