McCann Tech Girls Headed to Western Mass

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Aimee Dowling and Brianna Tassone each scored twice as the McCann Girls soccer team won its ninth game and qualified for the Western Mass tournament on Thursday.

 

Alanza Quinones made four saves to earn the shutout win as the Hornets downed Commerce, 8-0, and improved to 9-2-1 this fall (9-0 Tri-County).

 

Hannah Woods, Natalie Diesz, Allie Gibeau and Abby Andrews each scored a goal, and Diesz added a pair of assists in the win.

 

McCann will look to improve its seeding for the sectional tournament on Tuesday when it hosts Smith Voc.
