McCann Tech Gets Road Win in State Tourney Prelims

DEVENS, Mass. – Sofia Francesconi made 16 stops including a huge save at the end of regulation to backstop the McCann Tech girls soccer team to a 2-1 win over Parker Charter on Sunday in the Division 5 State Tournament.

 

Jordyn Lloyd and Lily Speed each scored for the Hornets on a pair of assists from Shaylee Lawson.

 

“Great game today,” McCann Tech coach Lindsay Lincoln said. “All our girls stepped up and came ready to play. Ryleigh Rathbun played a tough, physical game today, and our defense was great.

 

“Big game Tuesday, and we are ready.”

 

No. 33 McCann Tech (16-4) travels on Tuesday to play top-seeded Douglas in the Round of 32.
