McCann Tech Girls Fall on Road in Opener

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – Caitlin Willard scored a pair of goals and set up one more Wednesday to lead the Smith Vocational girls soccer team to a 4-0 win over McCann Tech in the Hornets’ season opener.

 

“We played hard against a very good team,” McCann Tech coach Lindsay Lincoln said. “I’m happy with our hustle today and excited to see this team improve each game.”

 

Lincoln singled out Ryleigh Rathbun and Emily Wood with strong games in the field. Sophia Francesconi was credited with 10 saves in McCann Tech’s goal.

 

The Hornets (0-1) host Putnam Vocational on Monday.
